IMPORTANT BOOT INFORMATION!!!

One of the most important components your son or daughter's Fusion uniform is their boots!

In the past years Fusion has purchased boots for candidates based on sizes that the candidates provided. Unfortunately, these sizes are not always correct causing candidates to experience foot cramping, pain, severe blisters or boots that just won’t go on their feet!

To avoid confusion on boot sizes (and to help candidates avoid blisters) we are requiring all Fusion candidates to bring a minimum of TWO PAIRS of boots to Fusion this fall. Trust us, this is a good thing! We recommend that you purchase your boots several weeks before Fusion and begin wearing them in order to break them in.

What kind of boots should theyI buy?
Due to Fusion’s uniform requirements, Fusion candidates are required to bring boots similar to the current US Army issue tan desert boot (please no brown or “Coyote” colored boots issued to the US Marine Corps). There are many models and manufacturers of Desert boots and the choice of model or manufacture is up to you. We request that all boots be a minimum of 6” tall. There are also varying prices on boots ranging from $30.00 - $200.00. Again, it is your choice what boots you purchase.
NOTE:  BOOTS DO NOT NEED TO BE WATERPROOF.  WHY?
BECAUSE YOU WILL BE IN WATER THAT IS MUCH DEEPER THAN THE BOOT IS TALL! ;-)

Where do we buy boots?
If you are in the Kansas City area, we recommend that you visit Bossert’s Military Surplus located at 434 Northeast 32nd Street Kansas City, MO 64116 Phone: (816) 452-2002. If you are outside Kansas City, we recommend that you visit your local military surplus or police supply store for precise fitting.

There are many online retailers available for purchasing boots. However, we recommend that you get your boots fitted locally to ensure a good fit.

Some reputable online retailers include:

Small Feet?
Some of our ladies have arrived with feet as small as size 3-4! Here is a site that sells boots in smaller sizes:
