Here I am.
Almost 5 months after I made the decision to go to Africa & every emotion is going through my brain. Tomorrow I am going back to school until Friday morning when I step on that plane & head across the world.
FUSION is nothing that I thought it would be….It just shows that you truly never know what is in store for you. Who knew coming into Fusion that I would have cut my finger, gone rappelling, jump off a cliff, have to find our way through Chicago, minister to complete strangers, help at a church, and grow in every dimension of my life?
I sit here in awe at not only myself, but also the others around me. We have gone through tough days when we just want to quit, or times when the task we are doing is completely worthless. We get through it though. The support of others around us is amazing.
To this day I am still in shock that I am doing this. The girl who is deathly afraid of planes, and trying out new things is taking the ultimate leap.
Bring. It. On.

"Hey, just a quick note to tell you we pray for you all regularly. Thanks for all you do as a part of Fusion. We know there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes - it can't all be easy - and we thank God for you. It's been awesome to see what God has been doing in Timothy's life already and it's been amazing to have it spill over and affect me as well. [Fusion] is SO worthwhile and He is using it to further His kingdom! Carry on!!!!!!"

I share this with so many of you as I anticipate Kelsey's return and realize the change in her heart that has taken place. I am acutely aware this morning how blessed I am, but how many people are hurting in ways beyond comprehension. I thank you all for your prayers, on behalf of Kelsey, and I ask that we continue to hold her up in the near future.
Blessings,
Beth H.

"We wanted to share our [Fusion] experience with your students with you. First, let us say thank you for investing in their lives and being willing to send them to India to help us see God’s plan for His people furthered. When we first met and learned about Fusion we thought it was great but didn’t know if we had the time to invest in the students. To be brutally honest, we weren’t sure it if was very strategic to use a bunch of young college guys in the harvest fields of North East India. Well, God certainly showed us that it is He that is at work in His children and that we can do nothing of ourselves. We were absolutely blown away by the passionate, servant-hearted, evangelists that we saw in these students. They did more than we ever expected possible in their short four months with us. They shared their faith boldly, discipled new believers and trained other believers how to share their faith and start new churches! I don’t get into numbers much, but I thought you might like to hear quantitatively how much these guys really did in a short time."
¨ They shared the gospel in 18 different villages and in 105 different houses.
¨ They each shared their faith with at least 5 different people each week.
¨ They saw 7 people believe in Jesus.
¨ They were able to disciple the new believers and taught basic church planting multiple times to various groups of believers
Two things that the guys said:
"Our identity has changed. Sharing our faith has become important. Growing up, being a Christian is what I did. Now it is who I am."
"The first time I shared my faith in my life was first semester. Now I’m comfortable sharing my faith and it’s easy."
"We purposefully wanted to send them out to a different town than where we live. We really wanted to push the envelope with them and see where God was at work. So, we sent them south to work with a national partner of ours. We thought we would be able to go and see them at least once a month and spend several days with them. However, we found ourselves in the midst of a move both physically and in our ministry. So, we weren’t able to spend much time with them face to face. In spite of that, they took what we had taught them during their first two weeks on the field and implemented it on their own. They were self-starters and that was such a blessing for us."
"We would love to have another team of students for next year. Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to work with these amazing guys for the semester!"

I met Rebecca S. this March and have since praised God for her. She has been a kind, considerate and reliable worker of Godly compassion towards all, but in particular the children that come to the Redeem School. On numerous mornings, she has risen early to provide milk for the children and to ensure its fair distribution.
Similarly, I have been impressed with her willingness and courage to minister to the usually closed Chinese community in town. Since 2005, I have only seen two Americans accepted by the Chinese community here and she is one of them. I hope, believe and pray that her conversations with the Chinese workers here will bear fruit and we will see our God glorified in both Africa and China.
May God continue to bless you and the teams you send.
Yours Sincerely,
Christopher C.

(Concerning communication and coordination with parents)
Now that the Fusion students have returned, Jonda and I just want to thank you for the many ways you helped facilitate all that God was doing in and through the lives of these young men and women. Thank you for your faithfulness, and for your personal and professional touch, as you were just as much a part of this missionary work as they were.
My the Lord continue to bless you!

Until the last year, missions has not been a major focus for me, be it in America or overseas. Lately I have begun to understand how important it is, and am focusing to bring it into one of my main priorities. My eyes have been opened to the world's need of Christ and I want to spread it any way possible.
[Through Fusion] I have learned that I need to spread the gospel no matter where I am. I have been given one life, and I can not waste my time here on earth...
I want to challenge my peers and other friends to wake up and see what they were made for. When you look into some of their eyes you can see that they are floating day to day with no plan for the future. They are happy when they are with their boyfriend or girlfriend, or when they are being entertained by friends. When this is over they sink back into a depression with no joy or hope. I want them to see that they were created to bring God glory, and that anything they are doing now apart from that is pointless. I really want to teach and encourage them to go out and share. I do not want them to fall into the same stale spiritual life that I am now freed from by God's grace. They must be taught to go out, and make disciples just like in Matt 28.
