Fusion Ethos
The Fusion ethos describes the fundamental character and spirit of the organization. The ethos is the underlying sentiment that informs and influences the beliefs, customs and practices of Fusion students, cadre and graduates. The Fusion ethos is encapsulated by the following statements:
-I will serve the body of Christ
The example of Christian service exemplified in love, respect and humility. Fusion graduates seek to exhibit Christian service through the life of the local church. This means our alumni are expected to do more than simply seek a church to attend but rather to seek out a church in which to
serve.
-I will lead the lost to Christ
Personal evangelism is central and key to fulfilling the Great Commission. Therefore, all Fusion personnel are expected to boldly and actively share the Gospel with the lost. This is accomplished both in word and deed. Sharing the Gospel is non-negotiable.
-I will exemplify the life of Christ
In order to truly exemplify the life of Jesus, the believer must walk with Christ publicly and privately. This includes a strong, life-long commitment to personal discipleship and character development. This process is described in Romans 12:2 and leads to the understanding of God’s will for the believer’s life.
-I will give my life for the cause of Christ
Giving one’s life for the cause of Jesus Christ is intended to incorporate all areas of a believer’s life including (but not limited to): finances (tithing and other sacrificial giving), personal time, spiritual gifts, physical talents and abilities, and ultimately the personal ownership of one’s own death. Giving one’s life for the cause of Christ is expected to be simple since their life is not their own; it was bought by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and consequently owned by the resurrected Christ who sits at the right hand of the throne of God.
-I will go to the nations to proclaim Christ
The Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20 is the command and Acts 1:8 is the description of the process. All Fusion graduates are expected to be faithful in their calling to go to the nations for Christ, beginning with their faithfulness to the Great Commission at home.
-I will always place Christ first!
The unofficial motto of Fusion is “Die Well!” This is only possible if one lives well. The only way to live well is to ALWAYS place Jesus Christ first in all things. Empowering our graduates to live the Fusion ethos allows them to run the race of faith with stamina for a lifetime and finish the race and hear our Lord tell us “Well done.” Therefore, Die Well!
